Back in 2017, Beauty Gonzalez proved that love really knows no age when she married her husband Norman Crisologo. They pursued their love for one another despite their 15-year age gap, even if the prying public had a lot to say about them. However, for one of Closeup‘s #FreeToLove video series, the couple had to share some of the experiences they faced because of their unconventional relationship.
Beauty Gonzalez and her loving husband recalled those moments with smiles. The Kapamilya star started off by metaphorically saying how she found her loving partner.
“I had to kiss a lot of frogs before I got my king. Not a prince. I wanted a king.”

Indeed, their story was full of hardships but fortunately, they still ended up with a happy ever after. It all started when the art curator Norman Crisologo saw the former housemate in a magazine cover. He was mesmerized and revealed that he contacted several showbiz friends just to get Beauty’s number.
When they first met, the actress even mistook him for a condominium salesman. Their initial encounter later on blossomed to where they are now. The “Kadenang Ginto” star knew that many raised their eyebrows upon learning about their relationship.
“Maraming na-shock. Bakit daw masyadong malaki yung agwat namin. ‘He’s too old for me.’”

With this, she mentioned one of the instances when their huge age gap made strangers perceive them incorrectly. Once, someone mistook Norman as her father. According to him:
“One time we went to this camera shop in Makati. And then we were looking at this camera, and then the salesman was trying to sell it to us, so he was giving us a demo. So he was saying, ‘Oh ganito ho ma’am, ganito, ganyan. Eto. Teka, picture-an natin si daddy. Oh, daddy! Daddy! Smile, daddy!’ They were looking at me, so smile naman ako, syempre wala akong magawa. But, you know, we just had a good laugh.”
Good thing, things like these just became a laughing matter to the couple. For them, what matters the most is that they stay true to their love, no matter what others think of them.
