If you are a certified #Batang90s then you are surely familiar with ABS-CBN’s youth-oriented shows like “Ang TV” and “Tabing Ilog,” right? These shows introduced some the biggest stars in showbiz industry at present including John Lloyd Cruz, Jodi Sta. Maria, Jolina Magdangal, Patrick Garcia, Angelica Panganiban, Carlo Aquino, and more.

One of the familiar names back in the 90s is Paula Peralejo, the younger sister of renowned actress Rica Peralejo. After being in the limelight for most of the 90s, Paula suddenly stopped appearing on our television screens. Have you ever wondered what really happened to this young actress?

According to ABS-CBN News, Paula Peralejo’s showbiz career started in 1992 when she became a part of the kiddie gag show “Ang TV.”

After which, Paula also landed a role in the youth-oriented series “Gimik” before finally getting her most popular portrayal of the role “Anne” in “Tabing Ilog” which ran from 1999 to 2003. During her “Tabing Ilog” days, Paula was paired up with 90s heartthrob, Patrick Garcia.

But in 2005, Paula took a break from her showbiz career to give way to her studies. According to a GMA News report, Paula took up Bachelor of Science in Philosophy minor in Tourism at the University of the Philippines and graduated as Magna Cum Laude in 2008.

In 2013, Paula was married to her boyfriend Charlie Fernandez who shares the same passion in traveling as her. This passion led the couple to open their own travel agency business.

In an interview with ABS-CBN’s program “My Puhunan” back in October 2016, the then 29-years-old Paula talks about their online-based travel agency business called “Our Restless Feet Travel and Tours”.

“Actually, when we started the business, we were thinking, ‘Naku, uso pa ba ‘yung travel agency?’ I was proven wrong. Actually, a lot of people, as long as your price point is good,” Paula said.

She revealed that when they opened the business, they started with a P100,000 capital fund and it was only her and Charlie who personally arrange the customer’s flights, tour package, itinerary, accommodations, and travel insurance.

Paula shared that she did not regret quitting the showbiz industry to pursue her studies as it became the key for her to discover what she really wanted to do in life.

“I’m glad na I resigned from show business and then I went back to school and then I started traveling. And that’s when I discovered what I really want to do,” she said.

According to her website, the 33-year-old mother of one and entrepreneur is still on a mission to visit the 81 provinces across the Philippines and as of now, she has already visited about 70 of them.
