Veteran actor Roi Vinzon enjoys double life as an actor and farmer

From the early ’80s to the late ’90s, action movies flourished in Philippine cinema. Legendary action stars such as Lito Lapid and Fernando Poe Jr. graced the big screen over and over again, fighting the forces of evil in countless box-office hits. Of course, the antagonists had to be just as captivating as the protagonists and one of best evil masterminds back in the day was none other than veteran actor Roi Vinzon.

Today, Roi Vinzon is still somewhat active in show business. He was a part of the recently concluded “Sherlock Jr.” and was recently a guest on GMA’s “Contessa” as Don Felipe.

During his down time, the 65-year-old veteran star spends most of his days managing his farm in Pampanga. Unbeknownst to most of us, Roi Vinzon used to be farmer before entering show business.

In his interview with “Tunay Na Buhay” host Rhea Santos, the seasoned actor explained that although he constantly travels to Manila from time to time, he is enjoying the much more laid back lifestyle in Pampanga.

“’Yun ang maganda sa akin—may separation. Ibang tao ka naman doon, ibang tao ka dito. Pagdating ko dito, may peace of mind ako dito.”

Aside from farming, Roi Vinzon is also busy raising his three lovely children — two beautiful girls and a charming young boy. When asked if his children will also pursue a career in acting, the action star is hopeful but isn’t certain since his children are all still quite young.
