In 1998, Azita Milanian was out for a run with her three dogs when one of them noticed something in the woods. When she went to check, she saw an abandoned baby underneath some dirt. Mortified by the state of the baby, Azita quickly removed the dirt covering the hapless infant.
While waiting for help to arrive she tried to calm the baby down by saying, “Please don’t [REDACTED]. I will never leave you. I love you.”
After their fateful encounter, they went their separate ways. Two decades later, the two would finally meet again.

Thanks to radio show “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” the tear-jerking reunion between Azita and the baby she rescued was made possible. As soon as Azita laid eyes on him, she broke down in tears.
“Finally, all my dreams came true,” she said.
The rescued former infant, Matthew Whitaker, only found out about his adoption and the story of how he was found a couple of years ago. With the knowledge of his rescue being fresh on his mind, he is happy and deeply grateful for the way his life turned out.
“I’ve lived a great life. I was adopted into a great family. I couldn’t ask my parents for any more,” he said.
Initially, Azita wanted to adopt him. But after their story broke out in the news, she thought that whoever abandoned Matthew might find them.
Instead, she tried to repeatedly contact the agency to which Matthew was brought in, but to no avail. A year later, she was informed that Matthew had already been adopted.
“I was hoping that he would find me, the same way we found each other that day,” Azita revealed.
At the end of the radio program, Azita and Matthew went to Altadena, the place where he was found.
With the horror and truth finally sinking in Matthew said, “This could have been my [REDACTED].” To which Azita immediately replied, “You were wanted.”
