Everyone dreams of getting his or her own house. For most, this is definitely one of their life goals, which is why they persevere and work hard after finishing their studies. However, this Philippine Military Academy graduate does not have to wait long before owning a house. After graduating as the valedictorian of his class last Sunday, March 11, it was announced that he will receive a house and lot as a gift from former Senate President Manny Villar.
According to ABS-CBN News, Cadet First Class Jaywardene Galilea Hontoria bested 282 mistahs of the “Alab Tala” Class of 2018 and was given the presidential saber by President Rodrigo Duterte himself. A brigade company commander and the third class baron of the academy, Hontoria graduated as the class valedictorian.
After being awarded, the master of ceremony announced that Hontoria was to receive a house and lot from Villar, as confirmed by PMA information officer Lt. Col. Reynaldo Balido.
According to Balido, this is actually the first time that a PMA graduate received such a lavish gift from any public official.
Netizens, of course, were quick to share their thoughts on the matter. Here are some of their comments:
Hailing from Pavia, Iloilo, Hontoria is the son of a farmer. He is engaged to his college sweetheart, Loura fe Dillera, and the two are set to get married after graduation.
